2018 Sidewalk Chalk Art Festival & annual corn roast!
It’s hard to believe that the Sidewalk Chalk Art Festival has been taking place for over 25 years. Since 1991 the Sidewalk Chalk Art Festival has grown to be one of the most anticipated and fun events in Washington County. Anyone can take part in the fun, no matter what their artistic skills might be. It is great to see the creative drawings taking shape throughout the day and to stroll the downtown blocks after the event to see the wonderful artwork.
Celebrate Forest Grove's agricultural roots with this fun annual festival, which offers fresh-roasted corn, along with burgers, sausages, hot dogs and more. Expect interactive displays, live entertainment, a quilt exhibit and children’s activities, including an obstacle course. The event takes place on the west lawn of Marsh Hall (Pacific campus) and is free and open to all.
Join us in welcoming new fall Featured Artist Christy Harangozo. Christy works predominantly in the medium of soft pastel. She experiments with surfaces to aid in bringing the viewer into the space she experienced when exploring it. From dramatic textured backgrounds that hint at movement to soft suede that lends an air of mystery, each surface is carefully chosen to evoke the emotion of the landscape. Her intentional choice of background tint serves to create an added dimension to each finished piece. This tone vibrating through lends itself to Harangozo's desire to portray a sense of history in her work.

Join Oregon artists and A Framer’s Touch for a special afternoon celebrating original children’s book, Those Bad, Bad Bedtime Boys! This rhyming story, written by Dana Wand and illustrated by Emily Lux, follows the adventure of a young boy trying to find out who is moving his toys around at night and getting him into trouble.
Emily Lux, Forest Grove based mural artist, created a series of paintings for her first children’s illustration project. Each original piece is framed and will be on display for sale on Saturday. Dana Wand is an award-winning children’s book author. The two met in 2000 when they both worked as decorators in the same cookie shop; after re-connecting online years later, Wand invited Lux to the project to bring color to her humorous story. The tale is inspired by Wand’s own children at bedtime.
A special reading begins at 1:30 pm followed by book signing at 2:00

"Life teaches me to be appreciative of creative chaos. In art, as in life, the unexpected place hides great depths of sacredness and beauty and love. I think of myself as a painter. Sometimes I use acrylics, sometimes I use fiber and thread."

But every now and then we need new pieces to refresh our wardrobe. And, if you 're like me, the last place you want to go is the dreaded mall where you spend half of your time parking and leave frustrated. Well, there is a real solution to this! Say goodbye to stores and the mall and head on over to my alternative store. I'm having the mall brought to my store with Michelle, a trained personal cabi Stylist who will present the Spring 2017 cabi Collection just for us! Trust me, you'll never want to go back to the old way of shopping. I will have sips and savories, so just come relax and enjoy a special night out with the girls. Mark your calendar...I can't wait to see you!
